Crisp Cucumber Rings

  Ingredients

Pickles

4 quarts cucumbers, sliced, unpeeled
6 white onions, sliced
3 cloves garlic, sliced (optional)
1/3 cup salt
ice

Syrup

5 cups sugar
3 cups white vinegar
1½ tsp turmeric
3 tbs mustard seed
1½ tsp celery seeds

  Directions

Combine first 4 ingredients. Cover with ice. Let stand for 3 hours.

Drain pickles. Mix syrup ingredients and add to pickles. Bring to a boil. Put in jars and seal.
