Shepard's Pie
- Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef
- 5 large potatoes -- mashed and seasoned
- 1 1/4 cups mixed vegetables -- cooked
- 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried savory
- 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 dash paprika
- 1 cup brown gravy
- Directions:
- Peel, cook and mash the potatoes. Add enough milk and
butter to mashed potatoes to make them moist but not
runny. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

- Brown the ground beef. Drain any oil. Add seasoned salt,
garlic powder, onion powder, savory, sage, thyme, pepper,
oregano. Heat 1-2 minutes more.

- Place ground beef in the bottom of a rather deep
casserole dish. Layer with cooked, mixed vegetables. Then
layer with mashed potatoes. Bake at 350 for 30-40
minutes, til potatoes turn golden brown and crusty. May
sprinkle top with paprika a few minutes before cooking is
finished.

- Serve with brown gravy on the side.
